Binary Bias
There are two kinds of people: those who divide the world in two kinds of people, and those who don’t.
— Robert Benchley
Binary bias is the basic human tendency to seek clarity and closure by simplifying a complex continuum into two categories.
As mentioned by Adam Grant in his book Think Again, the antidote to binary bias is showcasing a range of perspectives on a given topic. People are more likely to think again if they see topics through the many lenses of a prism.
